I was reading through my Facebook timeline when Jen, fellow mom and blogger friend sent a message in our group thread. She was looking for mommies who are available for a staycation and halloween party at F1 Hotel.
I was extremely lucky to be online at that exact moment. Thanks, Jen! Our first ever staycation became more special because we spent it with our friends and families.
It was our son’s first hotel experience so I thought it was best to associate this family activity with something familiar to him. I remembered The Furchester Hotel, Rio’s favorite lunchtime show in Disney Junior. And it worked! Our staycation newbie can’t wait to meet the people at the Furchester, I mean, F1 Hotel lobby.

Welcome to F1 Hotel!
The moment we stepped into the hotel lobby and was greeted by the friendly staff, we knew we were going to enjoy our first family staycation. This was affirmed when we met Ms. Twinkle Lacsamana, F1 Hotel Manila’s Marketing Manager and Pau Esmedilla, the hotel’s Marketing Assistant. They were warm and gamely answered all our questions during our lunch buffet.
We were also lucky to have seen Chef Decker Gokioco, F1 Hotel Manila’s new Executive Sous Chef in action.
Chef Decker made cooking look simple and fun. He cracked jokes and answered all our cooking queries while he prepared the food. When we met again at dinner time, he shared how he continues his family’s cooking legacy in the special dishes he prepares. We really felt we were in our family’s dining room while we enjoyed Chef Decker’s signature tapa dish. Truly a taste of home while dining in a hotel.
These photos do not give justice to how these dishes satisfied our hungry tummies! Sarap!
Room Sweet Room
After lunch, everyone was eager to have their afternoon siesta before hitting the pool with the kids. We all headed to our assigned rooms. Rio was surprised to see how spacious our room was. He immediately jumped on the sofa and said “Nanay, this room is so big!” Imagine how ecstatic our little boy was when he jumped on the white, soft and cozy bed in our room.
Fantastic Time at the Pool
Swimming at the hotel’s outdoor pool was definitely the highlight of our little boy’s staycation. He enjoyed every single second he was in water, topless and all.
While Rio and Tatay were in the pool area, I had my well-deserved massage at the hotel’s spa. It was so relaxing!
Dining Al Fresco
Our families enjoyed the dinner buffet near the poolside. We didn’t only experience the hotel’s great food but also the warm breeze and fantastic night sky.
Mommy Barkada Time
Initially, we planned to have some coffee and mommy chat in a nearby cafe. Instead, we chose to stay in the hotel because we were lazy to get out and so we could easily go back to our rooms if our little angels looked for us. As we listened to our own stories about work, parenting and everything under the sun, we got to know more about each other. I am grateful to have met new friends, young, vibrant and happy moms, as I wait to be part of the fabulous 40 circle this year!
I don’t have a photo of our chika time, so here’s our group photo at the hotel lobby before checking out. Love you, ladies!
Our first staycation was a truly relaxing and memorable one. Out little monkey can’t get over it and kept on asking us to go back to Furchester Hotel and swim in the pool.
Nanays, our family highly recommends F1 Hotel Manila. It is one awesome place to spend your family’s milestones.
