The first workshop I attended on how to raise our kids to be readers proved very helpful for our family. We were able to practice the most important tips, just enough to start and work on a family reading habit.
Rio has learned to love books but there are still days when he refuses to open a book. I know he’s looking for other things to do besides reading, playing with his toys and gadgets ( nanay guilt,ON!).
When I learned that Manila Workshop will be holding a workshop on “Early Childhood Developmental Milestones and Learning Activities”, I know this is one event I should not miss. Besides the learning activities that the workshop could share, I am hopeful that this can help me cope with my “developmental milestone delay syndrome”. I have coined that syndrome myself for always (as in all the time!) asking the question “Does Rio have a speech delay?” or “When will he start to speak in complete sentences?” I know that every child has his own and unique developmental milestone pace. Deep in my heart I also know that my son is OK. But still, I would not miss the chance to be educated and learn from an early childhood education specialist and to the mothers who will share their experiences on how their children learn.
See you at tomorrow’s workshop. I am excited to meet and listen to my new parenting pals!
